Patricia Grace

Patricia Grace descends from Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa & Te Ati Awa. Patricia is a major New Zealand novelist, short story writer & children’s writer. In 2007 she received a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to literature. In the late 80s, Patricia was among a number of influential Māori writers who helped to lay the foundation for Te Hā, a grassroots collective that aims – then as now – to identify, encourage and promote new Māori writing.
